March 15 Theme: Intentional
Romans 12:2 - “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind…”
As we move through life and make decisions, everything we do is shaped by the world around us – school, social media, friends, TikTok trends, etc. Because of this, we must be intentional about who we surround ourselves with and how we spend our time. God calls us not to be impulsive or passive in our decisions, but rather to renew our minds and choose differently than those around us when it’s the right thing to do. In your relationships, who pushes you towards or away from the person God created you to be? Choose friends who accept you for you. And when you’re online and doomscrolling, the videos you watch are shaping how you view yourself, others, and the world around you, without any chance to critically think about what you’re consuming. And in school, are you choosing hard work and resilience, or shortcuts? In these ways and others, we can practice being more intentional – habits like praying, gratitude journaling, and making time for the passions that God put in front of you are all ways to achieve this.
Gretna Glen is excited to partner with you and your youth ministry. Our Free Youth Events are designed to give groups of all sizes an energizing large-group worship experience. A dynamic speaker will share a relevant and practical message that speaks to everyday life, followed by an interactive experience where youth will gain skills to apply what they’ve learned in meaningful ways. To round out the day, the Gretna Glen team will also provide games, outdoor fun, and a snack.
Youth leaders, please RSVP if you're planning to join us by e-mailing Luke at program@gretnaglen.org. We don't need names or even an accurate count, but just a helpful "We'll be there!" goes a long way.
These events will be inside and outside depending on weather. It is best to come dressed in layers so that you can be comfortable in a range of environments.
