70 degrees/rainy/thunderstorm this morning
Today the campers learned that when we reach out to God, we are invited to the celebration at His table! "For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found. So they began to celebrate." - Luke 15:24
In addition to their Bible lesson, the campers also learned a bit about flexibility today as the mornings storm altered plans and kept everyone indoors. All of the overnight programs enjoyed some extra cabin time to hang out with their friends before heading home this evening. The storm passed before choice time and the campers went on to play gaga, play basketball, create things in the craft cave, boat, and fish. The pool was also open, but not many chose to swim today! After lunch each group had their closing before taking some time to pack up their belongings. The week ended for everyone with an all-camp closing where each program shared about what camp met to them this week. Then a quick pizza dinner on the deck to end our first week of overnight programming.
Day camp had a more relaxed morning due to the storm. The older kids built paper airplanes and had a great time testing them, The younger kids colored and made insect finger puppets (don't worry- no real insects were used!) After lunch the kids had time to play on the foam slide and swim. This afternoon the campers were visited by Critter Connections where they got to meet a variety of snakes, tortoises, lizards, and even a guinea pig. The older group also got to climb the tower and spend some time on team building activities.
The second week of camp has come to a close and we can't wait to see everyone back next year, or maybe even later this summer!
