86 degrees/sunny morning/afternoon and evening evening storms
Kindness, compassion, and selflessness. These are some of the things campers learned about during their Bible discovery time today. "But whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life"- John 4:14
This week we welcome 4 overnight programs to Gretna Glen. My Grown up and me had their Bible Discovery time at the Prayer labyrinth then enjoyed some play time (Gaga ball) before Lunch. Latino Camp also started their day with Bible Discovery before heading to Adventures of the Imagination and low ropes/team building. After Bible Discovery, Youth Blast in the Wild worked on their wilderness skills. Epic Explorers and Youth Blast both tested their skills on the personal challenge course before lunch.
After lunch it rained. A lot. The rain plan was activated and most afternoon activities took place in the cabins. After all of the programs shared a turkey dinner Latino Camp had evening worship and activities indoors and Youth Blast will be ending their evening by making mountain pies. All of the campers staying at the outpost this week will be staying on main site tonight.
Day Camp this week is Rooted in Nature. The older kids spent their morning at the personal challenge course. The younger kids started their week with some get to know you games before rotating through fishing, a "Leave no Trace" activity, and playing in the Imagination Garden where the mud kitchen was a huge hit. After lunch they were all able to enjoy their water games before the rain arrived.
Breakfast: pancakes, turkey sausage, fruit
Lunch: chicken tenders, mac and cheese, apple sauce, steamed broccoli, salad bar
Dinner: turkey, mashed potatoes, corn, rolls, salad bar
