- "But whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life." -John 4:14 Today the campers learned about how Jesus' love for us and his gift of Living Water are freely given; there is nothing we have to do to receive them.
This week we welcome Totally Awesome Random Fun (TARF) I and II, Youth Blast- Appalachian Trail, and Anglers and Archers as our overnight programs. TARF I began their day with Adventures of the Imagination before Bible Discovery. The campers then had fun in the mud during their creek stomp. TARF II started with Bible Discovery then archery and Adventures of the Imagination. After Bible Discovery, Youth Blast spent their morning working on low ropes and team building skills. Anglers and Archers cooked their breakfast on the Ridge before Bible study and a morning of fishing. After lunch and rollover, all of the overnight programs enjoyed their afternoon options where they could swim, visit the Snackery, play basketball or gaga, create things in the craft cave, or practice archery or fishing. This evening TARF I played Wacky Gaga and will be finishing their night with an outdoor movie (Veggie Tales) with popcorn then a twilight hike. TARF II built cardboard boats and will be testing tem out before their pool party and deep fried oreos tonight. Youth Blast had a lesson in hiking and camping and will finish their evening with a night hike and star gazing. Anglers and Archers tried out their archery skills and will be taking a hike before their pool party.
Day Camp is also about Totally Awesome Random Fun this week. During their Bible lesson about the woman at the well (John 4) each of the kids made their own small clay bowl. After a few get-to-know-you games the younger kids rotated through fishing, gaga, and the Imagination Garden, and the older kids played a variety of tag games. After lunch everyone enjoyed some water games. The younger kids then played Pac-Man tag and a game involving throwing cheese balls and trying to get them to stick to a counselor's hat covered in shaving cream and the older kids spent some time at low ropes.
