High of 87/Sunny morning and afternoon/Evening storm
"But Jesus immediately said to them: 'Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid'" -Matthew 14:27. Today's Bible Discovery time taught campers about how Jesus reaches out to us in the midst of our own fears and doubts because He can overcome all.
Today was full of more random fun for both TARF groups. TARF I celebrated cow appreciation after breakfast and had a little time for 9-square and basketball before their Bible Discovery time. They then had fun with their messy games before lunch. TARF II played 9-square and basketball before their cow appreciation time and Bible Discovery. They then tested themselves on the personal challenge course. Anglers and Archers cooked their breakfast on the Ridge, had Bible Discovery time, then went fishing from boats on camp's lake. After lunch all of the groups had rollover then choice time. The craft cave was especially popular today with many campers making gimp and friendship bracelets. Next came a picnic style dinner in the dining hall. This evening TARF I played parachute games in Funk Center and finished their night with a fire and chapel time in the retreat lodge. They did a prayer (finger) labyrinth and played "trumpets" as they read their Bible passage. TARF II and Anglers and Archers preformed themed silent skits using boxes of random props each group was given. It was an early bed night for Anglers and Archers. TARF II wrapped up their day with a Veggie Tales movie night.
Youth Blast had a very different day. After Breakfast they drove to the Shaffer's Rock trailhead on the Appalachian Trail where they did some hiking and climbing. They then traveled to Camp Penn for dinner, games, and a sleepover.
Day Camp also enjoyed some cow appreciation this morning. The younger kids then did their morning rotations and the older kids made ice cream in a bag. After lunch they all cooled off in the pool and waterslide. The afternoon was the younger kids' turn to make ice cream in a bag while the older kids practiced their boating, fishing, and archery skills.
