This leadership position works closely with our Year-Round staff team and the Summer Program Coordinator to oversee our dynamic Day Camp programs. This role oversees our two Day Camp Program Directors, and provides direct support and leadership to all Gretna Glen Day Camp staff. The Summer Day Camp Coordinator will oversee day-to-day responsibilities including registration, bible discovery, counselor management, large group direction, program development and implementation, and being a resource for behavioral needs. In addition, this role will lead Day Camp staff meetings, assign end-of-day tasks, help support staff training, ensure safety and quality standards are upheld, and communicate effectively with parents and caregivers. Qualified candidates will have at least two years of experience teaching or leading children in a school or camp environment. Employee must be a key leader in creating and maintaining positive staff culture within a Christian camp setting. This position works Monday through Friday each week, and on-site housing is available if needed. Employees are expected to be able to lift 50 pounds, remain active for long periods of time, and competently perform work duties such as cleaning with basic cleaning chemicals, and running equipment as trained. Driver’s license required. Employee must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
Secondary qualifications (nice to have): Teaching degree or equivalent certificate, CPR/AED certification, Experience leading summer camp counselors
