Our Epic Explorers program is designed for campers who love all things about camp—and those who are ready to take those experiences up a notch! Spend this week exploring and adventuring through all that Gretna Glen has to offer. Hangout in a treehouse net, splash in the pool and scramble across rocks as you explore new skills, new places, and new ways to appreciate nature.
Epic Explorers should expect a few EPIC twists along the way as well. Epic campfire snacks, epic pool parties, and epic additions to classic camp games are all part of this awesome week. Of course, camp at Gretna Glen is always epic, so the normal games, songs, choice time fun, and community will be included. We work hard to make sure each camper is building friendships and getting the full experience of Christian community that is so important to their week of camp. The Week That Never Slows Down
Epic Explorers is designed for campers who thrive on variety and momentum. Every day brings a different adventure, a different twist, and a different reason to be excited about what comes next. Creek exploration one morning, an epic pool party that afternoon, and a scavenger hunt that takes campers across camp before dinner.
The pace is fast but never frantic. Staff build in downtime, cabin hangouts, and campfire moments to balance the energy. Campers leave the week having tried more, explored more, and laughed more than they thought possible in five days.
WHERE YOU'LL STAY
Campers stay in traditional cabins on Gretna Glen's main campus. Cabins have bunk beds, a changing area, and access to a modern shower house built in 2018. A counselor is assigned to every cabin.
This is a mainsite program, so campers eat meals in the Dining Hall and have access to all of Gretna Glen's main campus facilities.
WHAT PARENTS SHOULD KNOW
Epic Explorers includes outdoor exploration activities like creek play and rock scrambling. Campers should pack clothes they don't mind getting muddy and wet. A detailed packing list is available on the Get Ready page.
Gretna Glen is ACA-accredited, meeting over 300 health, safety, and quality standards. Staff are trained specifically for the 9-12 age group. No prior camp experience is needed.
