From the water to the sky
Boats, floats, and rockets oh my! We are excited for a STEM focused week of water and sky fun. Rubber duck races, boating fun, water bottle rockets, and rocketry demos will all be part of the fun and learning at Float 2 Flight! This week will be a good opportunity to use our brains and delight our imaginations as we look at just how important it is to venture into the unknown, including the unknown things that God has in store for us!
day camp at gretna glen
Day Camp at Gretna Glen is an excellent summer adventure where kids can dive into a world of outdoor fun and make memories that will last a lifetime! Day camp at Gretna Glen has been in action since the 80s and is a beloved staple in our community. Whether campers join us for one week, two, or the full seven-week experience, every day at camp is packed with excitement. Campers will swim, fish, boat, hike nature trails, play games, sing upbeat songs, and build lifelong friendships in a vibrant, welcoming environment.
Each week brings a fresh theme, with creative activities and Bible discovery sessions that make each day feel unique. From exploring the great outdoors to learning new skills and growing spiritually, Gretna Glen Day Camp Programs offer the perfect mix of adventure, learning, and fun!
Built for Ages 5-8 and 9-13
Our day camp programs are divided into two age categories: campers ages 5-8 (DCY codes) and ages 9-13 (DCO codes). Campers from each program will see each other throughout the day. However, for program design reasons, campers should be in age-appropriate groups. Each age category will also have 'family' groups, so group sizes stay small and age appropriate. When registering for camp, please only request one 'bunk mate' in the same age category as your camper.
WHAT PARENTS SHOULD KNOW
Day camp runs Monday-Friday. Check-in on Monday is at 8:30 AM, then is at 9:00 AM Tuesday-Friday. Normal pickup each day is at 3:30 PM (unless you have signed up for extended day - see below). Lunch and two snacks are included. Activities are hands-on, messy by design, and supervised by trained staff.
Campers will get wet from swimming, water games, or the waterslide every day. They should come with their swimsuits already on, and pack extra clothes with a labeled towel. A detailed packing list is available on the Get Ready page.
Gretna Glen is accredited by the American Camp Association. To earn accreditation, Gretna Glen complies with more than 300 health, safety and program quality standards. This accreditation is vital to the safety of our campers and guests while holding us to a high standard of excellence.
